Other tract on which John Deer Jur formerly lived adjoining the above, as purchased by said John Deer Jr at sale of same as property of Daniel Platt for partition among his distributes and heirs bought by said Mary Platt from said John Deer Jr.

Above named Mary Moody was was Mary Platt and widow of Daniel Platt decd before her intermarriage with the above named Josiah Moody having been appointed guardian of her minor children: Charlotte Platt, Mary Jane Platt, Cathearine Platt, Sarah Platt, Eliza Platt and George W. Platt ... several bonds with the above named J. W. Lane and Jas G. Crawford as sureties thereto on 23 Jan 1841 in penal sum of $1400 cash.

14 Sep 1847 James Haselden Exec of Will of James G. Crawford, shows that about 1840 Daniel Platt late of Marion Dist., died intestate leaving his widow Mary Platt and among others the following minor children of himself and Mary Platt: Mary Jane Platt, George W. Platt, Catherine Platt, Charlotte Platt, Sarah Platt, and Eliza Platt.
James Lane, Mary's father, and James G. Crawford orator's testator, were sureties for her bond. Mary Platt has remarried Josiah W.Moody who by said marriage became possessed of five negroes, the property of Mary, and her lands. James G. Crawford died June 1846 leaving the orator as sole exec.

James, the older brother, was a very respectable man and good citizen ; he married Miss Julia Ann Smith, and raised a large family of sons and daughters, all of whom are now dead, except the youngest son, Enos Murchison Tart, who married in Columbus County, N. C, where he settled and now resides. John W. Tart, the oldest son of James, married a daughter of Rev. Samuel J. Bethea, raised a large family of sons and daughters, who are now among us as citizens of the county ; he died on April 14th, 1875, of a cancer on the tongue. A daughter of James Tart, Amelia, married the late John C. Campbell, near Ebenezer Church, where he and she both died a few years ago; they raised a large family of sons, and two daughters, perhaps eight or ten sons. Some of the sons, two or three, are dead, leaving no family, and one of the daughters is also dead, unmarried; the others are among us, and are respectable citizens.
