77101 !NOTES:I don't know if I'm related to this family or not but I am interested in them.
I've researched all Wilsons in the region to some extent in the attempt to discover the family of my ancestor Mrs. David Carpenter. She is a presumed Miss Wilson born ca 1810/15 in Burke Co., NC, died ca 1839 in Yancey Co., NC or in Ashe (now Watauga) Co., NC. My area of interest mainly includes Burke, Yancey, Mitchell, Avery and Watauga Counties, and some of their parent counties such as Buncombe and Ashe.
I am not yet 100% certain Mrs. David Carpenter was a Wilson, but they did name their second son "Wilson Carpenter" so that strongly suggests Wilson ancestry. They were associated with Wilsons as well;

Whereas a suit is now pending in Burke Superior Court of Equity between
Ann Wilson Plaintiff agains William Wilson her husband
for a divorce and allimony and whereas the parties have this day
compromised & settled the same.
The said William Wilson having conveyed to Robert Wilson a certain Negro girl
supposed to be of the age of ten now or thereabouts by the name of Lucinda
for the support and maintenance of the said Ann Wilson during her life & the said
Robert Wilson having gave bond payable to Samuel C. Wilson in the sum of
one thousand dollars that he the said Robert Wilson will maintain and support
the said Ann Wilson during her life - we the parties therefore have agreed
(whose names are hereunto set) that William Wilson is top ay the one half of
the court costs which have occurred and that Robert Wilson agrees that he will
pay the other half and this compromise is to be as complete ??? to all suits as

Whereas a suit is now pending in Burke Superior Court of Equity between
Ann Wilson Plaintiff agains William Wilson her husband
for a divorce and allimony and whereas the parties have this day
compromised & settled the same.
The said William Wilson having conveyed to Robert Wilson a certain Negro girl
supposed to be of the age of ten now or thereabouts by the name of Lucinda
for the support and maintenance of the said Ann Wilson during her life & the said

She is a presumed Miss Wilson born ca 1810/15 in Burke Co., NC, died ca 1839 in Yancey Co., NC or in Ashe (now Watauga) Co., NC. My area of interest mainly includes Burke, Yancey, Mitchell, Avery and Watauga Counties, and some of their parent counties such as Buncombe and Ashe.
I am not yet 100% certain Mrs. David Carpenter was a Wilson, but they did name their second son "Wilson Carpenter" so that strongly suggests Wilson ancestry. They were associated with Wilsons as well;

!NOTES:I don't know that Elijah is a son of Jesse, but was associated and named one of his sons Jesse.
Online trees list an Elijah Wilson (1812) as a son of George Wilson and Elizabeth Shepherd. This could be that Elijah except he was born ca 1817 per 1850 and 1870 census, or ca 1820 per 1860 census.
He fits better in Jesse's household in my opinion. Either they are wrong about George or else George had a different son also named Elijah.

I've researched all Wilsons in the region to some extent in the attempt to discover the family of my ancestor Mrs. David Carpenter. She is a presumed Miss Wilson born ca 1810/15 in Burke Co., NC, died ca 1839 in Yancey Co., NC or in Ashe (now Watauga) Co., NC. My area of interest mainly includes Burke, Yancey, Mitchell, Avery and Watauga Counties, and some of their parent counties such as Buncombe and Ashe.
I am not yet 100% certain Mrs. David Carpenter was a Wilson, but they did name their second son "Wilson Carpenter" so that strongly suggests Wilson ancestry. They were associated with Wilsons as well;
