77651 !NOTES:It's possible this is the same John who was in Clones, Monaghan, Ireland in the late 1680s/1690s, apparently a son of Alexander (d 1698) and Margaret (d 1698). One problem is that John's children from those records (Jean, John, Margaret, Katherine, Ann and James) don't perfectly align with John's 1742 Will. That could be easily explained though as some having died, others born before or after the Clones, Monaghan, Ireland records.

!NOTES:Birth date of "bef 1700" derived from an analysis of his children's approximate births based upon first appearances in the records or birth of first know child, etc. Using that method, the oldest son John was born ca 1718 or before. Using that, we can assume that James was born 1700 or before, if at least 18 when John was born.

It should be noted that this "before ca 1700" works well with the christening record of James Cathey, son of Alexander, christened 3 Jul 1694 in Clones Parish, Monaghan County, Ireland. It doesn't prove they are the same James though, but is noteworthy. It is also noteworthy that James of NC did *not* have a son named Alexander as far as is known, nor is the name used among his grandchildrer either. Not conclusive proof of anything, but also noteworthy.;



!NOTES:Maryland land survey 1720 James Cathey named "Drum Greena." EHC points out that Drumgeeny Township was a place in County Monaghan, Ireland, so that seems to tie James to Clones, Monaghan, Ireland where there was a proven James (1694) son of John.

WILLIE JOE SKIPPER
Willie Joe Skipper, 76, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Richardson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Skipper was born in Marion County, a son of the late Fred and Ethel Hardwick Skipper. He is also predeceased by his wife, Patricia Anne "Pat" Skipper, a son, Randy Skipper, and grandson, Scottie Horne. Mr. Skipper was retired from the City of Marion, where he served as Street Superintendent.

77693 !NOTES:John and William are not proven siblings, but there are certain things that lead me to believe they could be.

1. John Stewart was bondsman for William’s 1768 marriage. This shows a close relationship between the two. However, it is entirely possible this is some other John Stewart and not mine.

2. Both moved to Rutherford Co., NC before 1790. This is also not conclusive because it’s entirely possible the John in Rutherford in 1790 isn’t mine. Also, they didn’t live in the same section of the county at the time.

3. They are age compatible to be brothers.

4. They both have Macon Co., NC connections. My John died in Macon in 1830. William never lived in Macon as far as is known, but his daughter Lurena moved there before 1840. That could be a coincidence of course. Many Rutherford residents moved to Macon. However, on the 1850 census, Lurena was *two* houses from my uncle Jacob Stewart, son of John (1730/40). That could be a coincidence, but if they are 1st cousins, as I suspect, it makes more sense.; 		Stewart (I120121)
 
77694 !NOTES:John Baker and his first wife and second wife Kesiah Cearley had lots of children per the 1820, 1830 and 1840 census. His Will (1855) only names five children. The rest may have died before then, or perhaps were left out of the Will for various reasons.

Unknown Daughter (1835/40). John W. Baker had an apparent daughter this age. She was home in 1840, age "under 5" (born ca 1835/40), but gone by 1850, so possibly married or dead by then.
