83158 !NOTES:Not entirely proven son of Peter Stroud. But he was mentioned in 1838 letter from James and Rebecca Stroud Mashburn to her brother John Stroud and wife Delilah.
"I can in form you that mother in law has moved back to Joshua Curtis is and William Stroud has moved to where Starnes lived, and Starnes has moved to the old place and all the land belong to him Green and Robert and mother traded too or three times till the brok mother up."

The above strongly suggests William is one of their siblings, but doesn't prove it outright. However, due to his birth date (ca 1793) he doesn't fit anywhere else. Peter *has* to be his father.;

!NOTES:I've seen him listed as "William Austin Stroud" in an old genealogy, but I've never seen any actual proof that he had a middle name at all. It may be accurate though for they would have wanted to distinguish him from his Uncle William Stroud and 1st cousin William M. Stroud.;

Ayres. -Another family in the northeastern section of the county is the Ayres family. Of this family the first known to the writer was the Rev. William Ayres, and two brothers, Darius and John, usually called Jack Ayres.
...
Darius Ayres, brother of Rev. William, died in early life, leaving two sons, Darius and another, whose name the writer has forgotten (they both went to school to him). The elder boy, Darius, grew up, and the last heard of him by the writer he was a Baptist preacher in North Carolina.

"Mrs. A. Balch" no dates on small stone (footer).

Pointed out to me by Jenifer Luce 11-12-2024 via FB messenger. B/D & D/D per Jenifer

I looked into it and this Ann has to be the same person as Martha Patterson with Matthew in 1850. Same age. VV had that Martha married to Jonathan A. Brock. However, I looked into it, and Mrs. Brock was 10 years younger and couldn't be same person, so Ann Patterson Balch has to be Martha Ann Patterson Balch.

83189 !NOTES:On 9 Aug 1838, John Craig and wife Polly, made a deed to the heirs of Fielding Hensley, deceased, for the 100 acres on Red River, being the same originally sold to Fielding on 12 Aug 1823. The heirs were named as Sarah Hensley widow of Fielding Hensley deceased, William Hensley, John Hensley, James Hensley, Susannah Hensley, Zurilda Centers wife of John Centers, Henry Hensley and Samuel Hensley children and heirs at law of Fielding Hensley all of Montgomery Co., KY. The purpose of this deed was to record the original sale, as apparently no deed had been filed prior to this. I had originally only seen a summary abstract of this deed which lead me to wrongly conclude that John Craig and wife Polly were also heirs, selling their share of the estate to the other heirs. That wasn’t the case at all. (Montgomery Co., KY Deed Book 18, pp. 325-326, shared by Kyle Wear.)

83191 !NOTES:On 9 Aug 1838, John Craig and wife Polly, made a deed to the heirs of Fielding Hensley, deceased, for the 100 acres on Red River, being the same originally sold to Fielding on 12 Aug 1823.
