Two of her children (Hannah-1849 and Edward-1852) are probably the children of John Coleman, whom she was living with in 1850. He named her and them in his Will (1853) though no relationship was stated. She had other children at that time, but he didn't mention them, so that suggests he wasn't the father of any of the others. Edward's D/C shows his father as blank, and mother as --- Johnson. Caroline's oldest son, Dallas, was listed as a Johnson on some records, so was she a Johnson by birth and later married a Mears/Mayers? Or was it that Dallas's father was a Johnson. There was a Lewis Johnson age 16 with the family in 1850 (Caroline was 19 then). Caroline's last child was John, born in 1866. Apparently John A. Blackman (her next door neighbor then) was the father, for they later married and John (Jr) took the Blackman name.
