Mrs. Doris Tyler Sawyer, 64, wife of Carroll E. Gene Sawyer, died
Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence after
an illness.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Chapel
of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Tarte
officiating. Burial will follow in Mayers Memorial Park Cemetery,
directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sawyer was born Aug. 21, 1941, in Marion County, a daughter of
the late Roy and Kathleen Turner Tyler. She had retired from Sunny
Acres Nursing Home. Mrs. Sawyer was a member of Fork Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Sawyer in addition to her husband of the home are her
daughters, Angie Hayes of Fork, Julia Watford of Fork, Genia Rowell
of Fork and Myrtle Jones of Aynor; five grandchildren; two great-
grandchildren; and her sisters and brothers, Edna Collins of
Mullins, Annie Tyler of Lincolnville, Pearl Causey of Lincolnville,
Jean Stephens of Kalamazoo, Mich., Jayne (Louis) Pender of
Fayetteville, N.C., Marie (Glenn) Lane of Fayetteville, N.C., Elex
(Frances) Tyler of Coward, Billy (Kate) Tyler of Temple, Texas, Carl
(Lauri) Tyler of Bona Vista, Calif., Jimmy (Glenda) Tyler of St.
Pauls, N.C., Doug (Hope) Collins of Hope Mills, N.C., James

nbsp; She was a daughter of the late Harley and Gracie Lee Grant, and was preceded in death by her husband, L.L. Day, who died June 19, 1988; and one daughter, Sue Heffner, who died June 8, 2006.
nbsp; Surviving are three sons and their wives, Rick Day and Gayle of Andrews, Larry Day and Linda of Dallas and Tommy Day and Linda Sue of Bessemer City; two daughters and their husbands, Sandy Walters and Ken of Edmund, Ala., and Jan Brown and Jim of Mount Holly; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
nbsp; Funeral services were at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Townson Rose Chapel in Andrews with Pastor Eddie Hardin officiating. Burial was in Valleytown Cemetery, Andrews. Pallbearers were grandsons.
nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Valley View Care and Rehabilitation Center, 551 Kent St., Andrews, NC 28901.

MARION - Gordon Crawford Glaze, 86, died Tuesday, July 11, 2012 at McLeod Regional Medical Center after an illness. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Church of the Infant Jesus, burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. There will be a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM on Friday, July 13, at Richardson Funeral Home. Visitation will follow from 7:00-9:00 PM. Mr. Glaze was born in Leaf, George in 1925, a son of the late Gordon Glaze and Martha Reece Glaze. He is also predeceased by his first wife, Nelda B. Glaze, and a sister, Madge DeLoach. He was a graduate of Tocoa High School in Tocoa, GA and attended 2 years at the Atlanta Division of the University of Georgia Business School. Mr. Glaze was a veteran of WW II, having served in the US Navy from 1942-1945. He came to Marion, SC in 1946 and was employed by the Anderson Theatre Chain from 1947-1958. Later he was associated with Jefferson Pilot Insurance Company from 1962 until his retirement in 1990. He was a faithful member of the Church of Infant Jesus in Marion, where he was named Catholic Man of the Year, and also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Men's Club. Mr. Glaze was a member of the Marion Chamber of Commerce, member of Veterans of Foreign Affairs, and member of the American Legion. He was a member of Dusty Hills Country Club, where he was an avid golfer. He made seven hole-in-one's during his golfing years. Surviving are his wife, Patricia B. Glaze of the home; son, Gordon C. Glaze, Jr. (Marianne) of Surfside Beach; daughter, Ginger G. Jones (Mike) of Panama City, FL; step-sons, Jack V. Tindal, Jr. of Louisville, KY and Russell Tindal (Lynn) of Monks Corner; step-daughters, Kathy Lambert (Dean) of Marion, Cynthia McMillan (George) of Mullins, and Lisa Campbell (Freddie) of Marion; brother, John B. Glaze (Roz) of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Mae Anderson of Atlanta, GA and Martina White of Cocoa Beach, FL; 3 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren.
