Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Tarte officiating. Burial will follow in Mayers Memorial Park Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Mrs. Sawyer was born Aug. 21, 1941, in Marion County, a daughter of the late Roy and Kathleen Turner Tyler. She had retired from Sunny Acres Nursing Home. Mrs. Sawyer was a member of Fork Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Church of the Infant Jesus, burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. There will be a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM on Friday, July 13, at Richardson Funeral Home. Visitation will follow from 7:00-9:00 PM. Mr. Glaze was born in Leaf, George in 1925, a son of the late Gordon Glaze and Martha Reece Glaze. He is also predeceased by his first wife, Nelda B. Glaze, and a sister, Madge DeLoach. He was a graduate of Tocoa High School in Tocoa, GA and attended 2 years at the Atlanta Division of the University of Georgia Business School. Mr. Glaze was a veteran of WW II, having served in the US Navy from 1942-1945. He came to Marion, SC in 1946 and was employed by the Anderson Theatre Chain from 1947-1958. Later he was associated with Jefferson Pilot Insurance Company from 1962 until his retirement in 1990. He was a faithful member of the Church of Infant Jesus in Marion, where he was named Catholic Man of the Year, and also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Men's Club. Mr. Glaze was a member of the Marion Chamber of Commerce, member of Veterans of Foreign Affairs, and member of the American Legion. He was a member of Dusty Hills Country Club, where he was an avid golfer. He made seven hole-in-one's during his golfing years. Surviving are his wife, Patricia B. Glaze of the home; son, Gordon C. Glaze, Jr. (Marianne) of Surfside Beach; daughter, Ginger G. Jones (Mike) of Panama City, FL; step-sons, Jack V. Tindal, Jr. of Louisville, KY and Russell Tindal (Lynn) of Monks Corner; step-daughters, Kathy Lambert (Dean) of Marion, Cynthia McMillan (George) of Mullins, and Lisa Campbell (Freddie) of Marion; brother, John B. Glaze (Roz) of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Mae Anderson of Atlanta, GA and Martina White of Cocoa Beach, FL; 3 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren.
